Delta del Po Park

Its majestic horizon, framed by ancient woodland, pinewoods and green areas, alternating with architectural testimony going back to the golden age of the Este family, the Po Delta Park provides the ideal conditions of life for thousands of plant and animal species and offers the visitor enchanting unspoiled places.

Instituted in 1988 to take care of one of the most important natural environments in the country, it is the largest of the regional parks, occupying a significant part of the territory of Emilia Romagna, and is situated in the provinces of both Ferrara and Ravenna.

The territory of the park is laid out in six territorial ranges or "Stazioni", each one characterised by specific phenomena of natural, landscape or historical character. From north to south they are: Volano-Mesola-Goro, the historic centre of Comacchio; the Comacchio lagoons, Campotto di Argenta, the Pineta di San Vitale and the “Piallasse” di Ravenna, the Pineta di Classe and the Salina di Cervia.
